Teacher

Serkong Rinpoche's past incarnation had a strong connection with Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche and early FPMT students, which is continuing in this incarnation. We feel very honoured to again offer an occasion for students to meet and make a connection with Serkong Rinpoche.
Find out more about Tsenshap Serkong Rinpoche on our page – visiting teachers and course leaders.
Among the most highly regarded practitioners and debate masters, Rinpoche is renowned for his ability to communicate profound philosophical teachings with clarity, precision, warmth, humour in his characteristic down-to-earth manner.
Teachings
We are honoured to welcome back Serkong Tsenshab Rinpoche for a three-day course on In Praise of Dependent Origination, one of the most celebrated works of Lama Tsongkhapa.
In this profound text, Lama Tsongkhapa expresses his deep admiration for the Buddha’s teaching on dependent origination – the understanding that all phenomena arise in dependence upon causes, conditions, parts, and conceptual designation. He praises this insight as the key to understanding emptiness, avoiding the extremes of eternalism and nihilism, and ultimately attaining liberation and enlightenment.

Course / retreat discipline
We welcome your application to participate in our Spiritual Programme.
Though all Dharma events are now offered on a donation basis, we still require bookings for planning purposes.
To make the most of the opportunity, we suggest the following:
-
Settle all outside communication before you begin your course or retreat. Telling friends and family that you will be out of contact for the duration will significantly help to reduce distractions. Likewise, settling your travel arrangements, etc. before you come to Root Institute is highly advisable.
-
To maintain a healthy, calm, clear mind, observing silence will bring conducive mental space.
-
Practicing Dharma is a source of happiness; enjoy each step along the way!
-
Thank you for your interest in Root Institute's Spiritual Programme. We'll do our best to support you!
